Michael J Sheehy has been down to Psychotic Episodes studio laying down some Shipwrek'd tracks along with Sir
Eddie Real casting an ear over the songs before he goes off with the Alabama 3 for a swar-ray around the UK and Europe. Underwater
Blues! Hi folks, Ray here, saw an amazing couple of gigs recently, one at the Borderline and the
other at Victoria Park down near me and the Powder Lady. Man these guys that Joe Elliott has got together in the
'Down 'n' Outz' can really play, I was honoured & flattered at the same time with the great job
they'd done on some Mott & British Lions tracks that I figured were long gone, but they really stand up to this 21st
century treatment these guys have given them, keep on Rockin' Men, and try and get yourselves a copy of 'My Regeneration'
on Mailboat Record, it'll blow you away.

SANDY DILLON & RAY MAJORS 14th April saw the 10th birthday of the
Eel Pie club in Twickenham. Sandy and myself were invited down to put a couple of numbers together for this occasion. I
loosened myself up with Tom Nolan's Bluescasters on a sprightly little jamm 'off the top of our heads'-
Sandy meanwhile had shouts for Honky Tonk Woman down to the 'youtube' clip no doubt, and a cool rendition
of the classic 'Piece of my Heart', Sandy was on top form as usual, I had some problems with my throat due
to the radical surgery and the radiotherapy I been through, but I did manage to hit the high harmonies on the
middle eight and the chorus's (or Cor-eye) as Mott used to say. An enjoyable little Swa-Ray, a good time was had
by one and all.
After the gigs in Amsterdam & Den Hague
Powder Lady has laid down some new stuff in Berlin at a secret location. Also a further outing from Ray Majors is being recorded down in East London, deep in the heart of......... Jack the Ripper territory.
Over the next few months we will be recording music for two different projects, SHIPWREK'D, A Microtonal
Opera using natural sound (acoustic) and artificial (electronica) harnessed together with handmade instruments like the
Formicatron, amongst others, so named as its made from harpsichord strings and a kitchen worktop. The songs
are based on factual shipwrecks that took place between The UK and New England, specifically, the coastal area of Boston and
Cape Cod between 1700 and 1900. Many of the ships have women's christian names. Did sailors feel more protected by the
girl next door?
available at:www.tradition-moderne.com The
song collection will continue stripping down blues but with much more emphasis on drumming. Achim Farber and Sir Eddie Real
[Alabama 3} double drummed for me at Quasimodo Club in Berlin last year and having the power of all that rhythm really put
Ray and I into an altogether higher trance like, shamenistic chanting level! We were High on it for days afterwards. Thats
where we aim to take you to on this follow up CD. We will debut some of this material in Europe this year before heading
back to East Overshoe to listen to the waves for a bit and finish building some new instruments from stuff we keep finding
in Murray's garage-boudoir to use for the recording and development of Shipwreck'd...
FOOTNOTE:Lord
Ray-ving Majors has taken over the running of THE EAST OVERSHOE GAZETTE [under construction over the next few months, yeah!
Right....Ed.]. Using his name de plume-Swami Lok-jaw, THE ALL KNOWING SWAMI, (He will be serializing his book with the aid
and help of Keith Smith's magazine Two Miles From Heaven) about the life of guitarist Ray Majors in: KNOCK KNOCK THE HOOF
OFF, MY LIFE IN MOTT WAS...NOT. He will keep you posted
